Firefighting equipment & powder extinguishers

Most boats are either made of wood or fiberglass and both burn very quickly and therefore there must be fire extinguishers and powder extinguishers on board every ship. In some engine rooms there are built-in powder extinguishers and these must be checked regularly as they give a false sense of security if they are not serviced properly.
