Zinc & Aluminum Anodes

Zinc anodes and aluminum anodes, also called sacrificial anodes, are very important on your boat. It is important not to compromise with zinc anodes as they are what, among other things, counteract galvanic corrosion on your hull, propellers, shafts, trim tabs, etc. You must make sure every year that your zinc anodes or sacrificial anodes are in good condition and you must be aware that just because they look nice on the surface does not necessarily mean that they are ok. It is better to change the zinc anodes once too many than once too few.
