Fenders and buoys
All boats need fenders, whether you have a small dinghy, sailboat or larger motorboat. The primary function of the fenders is to protect your boat and absorb shocks, both during entry and when your boat is in the harbor. We (Alpina Marine) have quays down to Næstved Canal – where commercial ships and pleasure craft sail past daily. This creates movement in the water, which in turn means that sailors who come to us for boat storage or boat repairs naturally use fenders when docking at our quay. Fenders are typically placed hanging along the freeboard and protect your boat from the bulwark or other boats.
We recommend that you invest in good fenders that are the right size for your boat – there are many opinions on the size of a fender, but please use a rule of thumb as follows: For a cylindrical fender approx. 3 cm in diameter for every 1.5 m of boat length, and for a round fender approx. 6 cm per 1.5 m of boat length. This is not a definitive answer :) just a guideline – it should also be possible to handle your fender!
Here in this category you will find fenders from Majoni and Dan-Fender from Danish Dan-Hill Plast. In 1952, Dutch Majoni invented the plastic football and a new way of manufacturing hollow plastic products with a rotational molding technique. This technique was used to develop several products, such as Majoni Fenders. Today you will find Majoni fenders all over the world.
Did you know that Majoni Fenders are available in 12 different colors? And that you can get Majoni Fenders with your own name or logo?

How many fenders should there be on a boat?
As with everything else – there are several opinions on how many fenders a boat should have. At a minimum, there should be 6 fenders that fit the size of the boat. The bigger and longer the boat, the more fenders you need. If you have as a principle that you like to have an extra fender – you will go far.
NOTE! The water level rises and falls, this is also something you need to take into account when placing fenders on your boat. You can tie your fender with double half-hooks, we have fender liners for this purpose here.
For us, fenders are important, they protect your boat from damage from other boats, quays, piles, etc. The investment in new and good fenders is relatively small if we compare it to the price of your boat! Feel free to buy several new and good fenders – when you invest in a new (or used) boat. The investment in fenders is relatively small – if we compare it to the price of your boat!
