Effective corrosion protection for smaller Side-Power and Sleipner bow thrusters. This aluminum sacrificial anode is designed for models SP30, SP35, SP40, SE30, and SE40 and protects the bow thruster housing, gearbox, and tunnel from galvanic corrosion by acting as a sacrificial metal.
The anode is manufactured from a modern aluminum alloy (Al-Zn-In), which provides effective protection in saltwater, brackish water, and freshwater alike. Compared to traditional zinc anodes, aluminum has a lower weight and often a longer service life at the same size.
Mounted directly on the propeller or tunnel shaft, it ensures an optimal electrical connection to the components that need protection. Regular inspection and replacement of the anode is an important part of bow thruster maintenance.
