Springfield's Kingpin™ removable seat pedestal system is brilliant for quickly mounting a seat at 2 heights.
If you want to fish, mount it with a pedestal so you can sit at full height and when you have caught your catch, remove the pedestal and place the top base with seat directly into the bottom bracket, then you can sail into port.
