VHF, AIS AND SURVEILLANCE
The Cortex V1 is an advanced multi-station VHF radio with remote monitoring and control. The Cortex V1 system includes a Cortex M1 hub and a wired Cortex H1 handset. Connect additional Cortex handsets (sold separately) for even more freedom and control on board.
AVOID COLLISION
Cortex smartAIS continuously monitors AIS information from other vessels and calculates crossing situations, triggers collision alerts and provides easy-to-understand cues for avoiding them. Data from the built-in heading sensor is also broadcast so that other vessels can clearly identify the direction the vessel is moving.
VHF VOICE FLEXIBILITY
Both portable and powered Cortex handsets connect wirelessly via Wi- Fi® link to the Cortex M1 hub. Carry a portable handset with you so you can have continuous VHF communication access anywhere on the boat.
DSC WITH SINGLE PRESSURE
Cortex allows you to initiate direct DSC calls to other vessels by simply pressing the vessel icon on your handset. Make VHF calls to friends or quickly call another vessel when every second counts.

Multiple Cortex H1 and Cortex H1P handsets can be connected to each hub. Up to 5 can be connected directly to the Cortex Network, with an additional 5 through an existing boat network for increased range on larger vessels.

SPEAKING ALARMS
Instead of ambiguous bells or tones, you'll hear a voice prompt telling you what the alarm means. In the event of a potential collision, you'll also be notified of the direction of the threat so you quickly know where to look.
DEDICATED MAN OVERBOARD
Man Overboard (MOB) can be activated manually using the dedicated MOB button on the Cortex handset, the Cortex Onboard app for smart devices, or automatically from an AIS MOB beacon – initiating a traceback mode to speed up the rescue.

Wet hands? Wearing gloves? Cortex handsets are designed to be glove-friendly and are built to work in all types of saltwater or freshwater environments.

ROBUST, DURABLE DESIGN
Water-rated to IPX7 standards (Resistant to water ingress when submerged for up to 30 minutes in up to one meter of water). The Cortex hub’s thermal polymer housing is heat-resistant and corrosion-resistant – so it can be safely mounted anywhere onboard. Cortex handsets are also IPX8 water-rated.
LOW POWER CONSUMPTION
Designed to have a minimal power consumption of just 500mA, the Cortex hub can stay on at all times to keep you informed. It will alert you even when your MFD is off – ideal if you need to conserve power when at anchor or on a long voyage.
EXTREMELY LIGHT-RESISTANT
The bright, optically bonded LCD screen offers brilliant daylight visibility and a wide viewing angle. A built-in ambient light sensor allows for automatic adjustment as conditions change.
GALVANIC ISOLATION
Galvanically isolated ports and internal components protect your Cortex hub and connected equipment from electrical shorts and circuit damage in the corrosive marine environment.
MULTI-CONSTELLATION GNSS
With fast 10Hz GPS updates that accompany your vessel, your vessel's position is plotted using multiple global satellite networks. When you connect other devices to Cortex using NMEA 2000 or NMEA 0183, all onboard equipment benefits from Cortex's super-fast GPS capability.

CONNECT WITH ROAMING
Connect to a boat network with cellular or satellite data to roam where Cortex cellular data connection can't reach.

EASY INSTALLATION
Use a single existing VHF antenna (not included) for both AIS and VHF, saving time and money on installation. You can also upgrade to a single AIS/VHF antenna for optimized AIS performance.
