This anti-twist mast ladder is developed for safe and stable access to the masthead for service, repair, and inspection of sailboats. The ladder is made of heavy-duty textile straps with robust aluminum rungs and is designed so that it does not twist or rotate under load.
The ladder is attached at the bottom to the two prepared loops – ideally under the boom fitting – and is then tensioned with a halyard. When the ladder is correctly tensioned using the boat's winch, each rung automatically locks into place via a self-tensioning system. This provides a rigid and stable construction that remains in position, even when the user leans away from the mast.
The ladder is dimensioned for masts of approx. 12 meters, where the ladder length of 10.80 meters allows for comfortable work at the masthead. When the ladder is correctly tensioned, the user will stand with the masthead at approximately chest height from the top rung.
