This Aqua Sailor 50 N buoyancy aid in size Junior is a fixed buoyancy aid for children with a body weight of 25–40 kg. The vest is intended for use on sailboats and in canoes and has a documented chest circumference of 81–102 cm.
The Junior variant belongs to the 50 N level according to EN ISO 12402-5. The variant-specific minimum buoyancy is 35 N. The product is a buoyancy aid, which helps the user stay afloat, and must not be confused with an actual life jacket.
The buoyancy is provided by soft foam, so the vest does not need to be inflated before use. The sleeveless construction closes with a central zipper and is secured with two waist straps, which allow the vest to be adjusted to the body.
The lower part is foldable and hinged, which improves comfort in a sitting position. The construction is therefore particularly relevant for activities where the user is sitting in a cockpit or canoe. The color combination is yellow and blue.
The vest is classified according to EN ISO 12402-5 and covered by type examination in accordance with the PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425, Annex II and Module B. It is not SOLAS/MED-approved.
