Aquatic AV MP6 waterproof marine stereo is a shallow-mount marine audio unit featuring Bluetooth, USB, MP3/WMA playback, AUX, and AM/FM radio. DAB+ can be added with the separate DAB receiver, item no. 29.548.83. The monochrome TFT display features blue backlighting, a clock display, and a choice between 100% and 30% brightness.
The integrated Class A/B amplifier delivers a maximum of 4 × 45 W at 4 ohms or 4 × 72 W at 2 ohms. The unit can drive four speaker channels with a minimum load of 2 ohms and also features a stereo RCA pre-out with 2 V output level for an external amplifier. Two external 12 V trigger outputs with a proven maximum load of 3 A can be used for amplifiers, relays, or other 12 V equipment.
Bluetooth supports the display of song title, artist, and album when the connected device and audio source provide metadata. Two Bluetooth devices can be paired via Multi-link, and the USB player supports, among other things, folder and track search, repeat, and shuffle. Audio settings include bass, treble, balance, fader, loudness, and DSP EQ presets for Flat, Rock, Classic, and Pop.
The marine stereo operates at 10.5–14.4 V DC, has a maximum power consumption of 10 A and a standby consumption below 3 mA. The rear-mounted USB connection delivers up to 2.1 A charging current. The radio has 18 FM and 12 AM presets as well as selectable US and European frequency ranges. With a connected DAB+ receiver, there are 18 DAB+ presets.
IP65 protection, conformal coating on the circuit board, ABS front, aluminum chassis, and stainless steel mounting hardware make the unit suitable for demanding marine installations. The construction has been tested for 500 hours for UV resistance according to ASTM D4329 and for 500 hours for salt/fog resistance according to ASTM B117. A silicone cover protects the front when the stereo is not in use.
The front measures 210 × 65.2 mm, and the total depth is 139 mm. Installation requires a rectangular cutout of 183 × 53 mm. The unit is mounted in an installation sleeve and locked from the front with four screws. The mounting surface must be clean and flat so that the front gasket can seal correctly.
