This combined Bluetooth stereo, active subwoofer, and amplifier from Aquatic AV integrates a bass unit, audio control, and amplification into one marine audio system. The SWA6 system, model AQ-SWA8-6BT, is intended for 12 V DC installations in environments such as boats, pool areas, and spa areas.
The built-in amplifier delivers up to 288 W at 2 ohms. Power is distributed with up to 144 W to the integrated 8-inch subwoofer and 2 × 72 W to the full-range outputs. At 4 ohms, the full-range outputs deliver up to 2 × 45 W. Up to four external 4-ohm full-range speakers can be connected, and each individual speaker must have an impedance of at least 4 ohms.
A built-in electronic crossover balances the subwoofer and the full-range outputs. The subwoofer's frequency range is 26–125 Hz, while the full-range outputs cover 125–20,000 Hz. The dual voice coil and tuned bass port support bass reproduction, and the system's sensitivity is 86 dB.
Music can be played wirelessly via Bluetooth from compatible smartphones and media players. The Halo Aerial Technology antenna strengthens reception, and the system supports pairing multiple devices, with one device able to play at a time. Two stereo RCA inputs allow for analog audio connection with selectable input sensitivity of 400 mV, 2 V, or 4 V. Bluetooth playback has priority over the RCA signal, and automatic standby is activated when no audio signal is detected.
The enclosure is made of ABS, while the subwoofer cone is made of polypropylene. The circuit board has a protective conformal coating, and the IPX4 protection class guards against water splashes. The unit measures 368.3 mm in width, 279.4 mm in depth, and 144.2 mm in height. It must be placed stably with sufficient ventilation, and the enclosure openings must not be blocked.
For power and ground, at least 18 AWG wire must be used. Connection requires the AQ-UNH-2 wiring harness or a compatible existing factory wiring harness. The AQ-BTANT-1 Bluetooth antenna is included and connects to the unit's SMA/Halo Aerial connector. The system can be operated from the paired Bluetooth device or with the optional AQ-RF-6UBT remote control.
