This ATI Boat Boiler marine water heater is a rectangular 20-litre hot water tank in Version A for the production and storage of hot domestic water on board. The bivalent system can heat water indirectly via the engine's cooling water circuit and the built-in heat exchanger, or directly with the 230 V, 1250 W electric heating element.
The oversized heat exchanger is designed for efficient heat transfer from the engine's cooling water. A layer of expanded polyurethane sits between the tank and the outer casing, reducing heat loss. The insulation is stated to keep the water at temperature for at least 123 hours, although no measurement method is provided for this value.
Version A features a glass/porcelain enamelled inner tank, an aluminium casing, and an enamelled heat exchanger. A magnesium anode provides cathodic corrosion protection for the tank and can be replaced as part of routine maintenance.
The marine water heater can be mounted both horizontally and vertically. The centre distance between the mounting brackets, L1, is 457 mm. The dimension L2 for the tank part itself is 420 mm, while the total P-dimension including flange is 190 mm. These dimensions describe different parts of the product and do not constitute a standard length, width, and height measurement.
The safety valve is set to 4 bar, and the tank has been tested at 8 bar. As a documented spare part, the magnesium anode with item no. 50.289.54 can be used. A thermostatic mixing valve with item no. 50.189.58 can also be used as a universal accessory for regulating the temperature of the outgoing hot water.
