Autoterm hull exhaust skin fitting in the standard version safely directs exhaust gas from a marine heating system through the boat's hull and overboard. The straight fitting is designed for exhaust pipes with a Ø 24 mm connection.
The fitting is made of AISI 316 stainless steel, which is suitable for corrosive and aggressive maritime environments. The construction consists of a through-hull pipe section with a flange for mechanical mounting in the hull.
The variant can be used as an exhaust adapter for Autoterm Air 2D, Air 4D, Flow 5D, and Flow 5B. The connection to the metal exhaust hose is secured with a suitable hose clamp, and a rubber gasket must be used between the flange and the hull. Exhaust cement or another suitable sealant can be used at the exhaust pipe connections.
The exhaust outlet must be placed at least 60 cm above the waterline and oriented to reduce the risk of water ingress. The location must also prevent exhaust gas from being drawn back through the combustion air intake or directed towards open windows, doors, and living areas.
On sailboats, the fitting should be placed at the stern rather than in the side of the hull. Use extra heat insulation where the exhaust pipe passes through the hull, bulkheads, or other heat-sensitive areas.
