This B&G H5000 autopilot CPU is a dedicated pilot computer for the H5000 instrument system on sailboats. It acts as the autopilot's central control unit and continuously receives data on wind, speed, depth, and compass from the H5000 network.
The pilot computer supports steering by compass heading, wind, and waypoint. The wind steering can operate with AWA, TWA, and Polar Wind Mode, where the boat's polar diagram is used to maintain an optimized course relative to the wind.
The unit connects to the NMEA 2000 / Micro-C backbone and integrates with the H5000 Central Processor Unit, H5000 Graphic Display, and Race Display. Operation and setup are performed via the H5000 Pilot Controller or a connected plotter.
