BEDFLEX Marine flexible slat base for beds and bunks is developed for installation under mattresses or cushions in boats, berths, and other sleeping areas where stable support, good ventilation, and the possibility for individual adjustment are desired.
The slat base is available as a single or double model with various nominal length and width dimensions. It consists of 14 elastic slats, which are 8 or 10 mm thick depending on the variant. The slats are made of laminated or lacquered multi-layered beech with unidirectional layers that provide the wood with the necessary elasticity.
The slats are held together by two or three connecting and spacing straps made of synthetic rubber. The open and raised construction creates air passage between the base and the mattress. This improves ventilation and helps to counteract the accumulation of moisture as well as the risk of mold and mildew under the bed or bunk.
The slats have a standard width of 63 mm, and the total height is approximately 30 mm above the base. The slat base can be placed directly under an existing mattress or cushion and does not require special tools for installation.
The flexible construction is suitable for angled, curved, tapered, or otherwise irregular bunks. The slats can be cut to size with a hacksaw or other standard sawing tools so that the outer contour fits the specific bed or bunk. The product is supplied as a movable slat base and not as a fixed bed frame.
