This fire extinguisher port for engine compartments provides access for a handheld fire extinguisher through the side of a closed engine box or engine compartment. Fire extinguishing agent can thus be applied without first opening the engine compartment hatch or box.
The opening is sealed with a watertight, pierceable PVC membrane. In the event of a fire, the membrane is broken so that the fire extinguisher nozzle can be aimed through the port. The design limits the need to open the engine compartment during fire suppression.
The port has an outer diameter of 68 mm and an opening of 45 mm. The mounting flange is made of polished stainless steel and has four mounting points. Mounting screws are not documented as part of the delivery.
The fire extinguisher port is manufactured in accordance with Directive 2013/53/EU and in compliance with ISO 9094-2. It is intended for installation in a boat's engine box or engine compartment.
