This Bulgin Buccaneer panel mount connector with female contacts is a 2-pole, low-profile circular connector for fixed flange or panel mounting. The connector belongs to the Standard Buccaneer series and is intended for electrical connections where a compact, polarized, and sealed connector is required.
The connector component PX0764/S has two pre-assembled female contacts with screw terminals and is rated for 12 A and max. 277 V AC/DC. The terminals are intended for conductor cross-sections of 2.5-4 mm² / 12-14 AWG. The matching cable-mounted mating connector is item no. 14.350.02, corresponding to Bulgin PX0736/P. As this mating connector is rated for 10 A, the total current rating of the connection is limited to 10 A.
The housing is manufactured from glass fiber reinforced polyamide/nylon with an UL94 HB fire rating. The contact insert is made of polyamide, while the contacts are made of nickel-plated brass. The connector features a polarizing alignment notch, which ensures correct orientation during mating, and the connector halves are secured with a screw lock. A waterproof cap is included.
The flange measures 44.5 × 44.5 mm and has four Ø3.8 mm mounting holes. The hole spacing is 33.3 × 33.3 mm, and the recommended central panel cutout is Ø21.0 mm. The rear cylindrical housing part is Ø20.2 mm, while the diameter over the coupling ring is 38.1 mm. The recommended tightening torque for the mounting screws is 0.34 Nm.
The connector is IP68 and IP69K rated. The IP68 seal is achieved by proper mating with a compatible connector and correctly positioned, clean gaskets. The operating temperature is -20 °C to +70 °C, and the construction is tested against cyclic salt mist according to EN 60068-2-52, Marine Severity Level 1. The model has CSA, UL, and VDE approvals as well as RoHS compliance.
The connector must not be mated or unmated under electrical load. When installing with mains voltage, correct fusing and approved residual current protection must be used.
