This Bulgin Standard Buccaneer male cable connector is a 3-pole, circular cable connector for free cable mounting. The connector features three male contacts, a rated current of 10 A, and is intended for mating with a compatible female connector in the PX07 series.
Model PX0731/P uses screw terminals and is supplied with pre-fitted contacts. The electrical connection can be made without special tools, and the terminals are sized for a conductor cross-section of 2.5-4 mm², corresponding to 14-12 AWG. The included black cable gland fits smooth, round cables with a diameter of 6-8 mm.
The connector housing is manufactured from glass-reinforced polyamide/nylon, while the contacts are made of nickel-plated brass. The threaded coupling with a screw locking ring secures the connection, and mechanical polarization keys prevent incorrect orientation during mating. The product measures a maximum of 69 mm in length depending on cable diameter and has a diameter of 38.1 mm across the coupling ring.
When the connector is properly mated with a compatible counterpart, the connection is rated to IP68. The construction is also rated to IP69K/IP6K9K according to DIN 40050 part 9 and has an operating temperature range from -20 °C to +70 °C. Salt mist resistance is tested according to EN 60068-2-52, Test Kb, Marine Severity Level 1.
Documented compatibility includes the 3-pole external female connector with item no. 14.360.03 and the 3-pole low-profile chassis-mount female connector with item no. 14.370.03. When the cable connector is stored disconnected, sealing cap PX0734 can be used to protect the connection and maintain the intended seal.
During installation, the cable gland and gland nut must be tightened correctly around the cable, and the O-rings must be clean and correctly positioned. The connector must not be mated or disconnected under electrical load. The male connector must be mounted on the device or consumer side of the connection.
