This Carling Contura II illuminated marine rocker switch is a panel-mount ON-ON switch for marine electrical installations. The switch function makes it suitable as a two-way switch, where the same lamp can be operated from two different locations.
The switch has two stable ON positions without spring return. The maximum contact load is 20 A at 12 V and 15 A at 24 V. The built-in illumination is designed for 12 V and consists of two white incandescent bulbs.
The dual illumination has separate functions. One bulb illuminates the symbol on the selected rocker and can be kept on constantly so that the switch is easy to locate in the dark. The second bulb illuminates the indicator slit below the symbol when the connected function is activated.
The switch is mounted by flush-fitting and snap-in fastening into a rectangular panel cutout of 21.5 × 36.8 mm. The front measures 25 × 49 mm, and the installation depth is 39 mm. The IP56 rating provides protection against dust and powerful water jets when properly installed.
The switch housing has a polyester base and a nylon frame. The interchangeable symbol rocker/actuator is not included and must be selected separately according to the function the switch is to operate. Neutral rockers without symbols are available, among others, as item nos. 14.194.09, 14.193.69, 14.193.39, and 14.193.09. Separate frames for a single switch are available in white as item no. 14.197.63 and in black as item no. 14.197.03.
