This Carling Contura II marine rocker switch is a panel-mounted 12 V switch with a momentary (ON)-OFF function. The ON position is maintained only while the switch is being operated, after which the spring return brings it back to OFF. The function is intended for horns, signal horns, and marine/boat toilets, where the equipment should only be active during operation.
The switch has four terminals and white 12 V bulbs. The maximum contact load is 20 A at 12 V and 15 A at 24 V. The design features illumination for symbol and function indication, but the precise light sequence depends on the momentary switch function.
The switch is mounted in a rectangular panel hole of 21.5 × 36.8 mm. The switch housing measures 49 mm in height, 25 mm in width, and 39 mm in depth. The enclosure is IP56 rated, meaning it is protected against harmful dust ingress and powerful water jets.
The product is supplied as a switch base without a symbol rocker. A suitable Contura symbol rocker must therefore be ordered separately. For horns, item nos. 14.193.03, 14.193.33, 14.193.63, or 14.194.03 can be used, among others. For toilet pumps, the symbol rockers 14.193.83 and 14.193.93 are available.
For single mounting, a black frame with item no. 14.197.03 and a white frame with item no. 14.197.63 are available. When assembling a complete switch panel, black panel parts 14.197.01 and 14.197.02 as well as blanking plug 14.197.04 can be used. Corresponding white panel parts are available as 14.197.61, 14.197.62, and 14.197.64.
