This Carling Contura II illuminated rocker switch is a three-position switch body for panel mounting. The switching function is (ON)-OFF-(ON), which means that both ON positions are momentary. When the switch is released, it returns by spring force to the center OFF position.
The switch has four terminals and is intended for the control of hydraulic gangways, anchor windlasses, and trim tabs. The maximum contact load is 20 A at 12 V and 15 A at 24 V. This variant has 12 V illumination with two red LEDs.
The two LEDs each have their own function. One illuminates the symbol on the separately mounted rocker and can be constantly lit so that the switch is visible in the dark. The other illuminates a separate status indicator below the symbol when the connected equipment is activated.
The switch body is IP56 rated and is installed by snap-mounting into a rectangular panel cutout of 21.5 × 36.8 mm. The dimension indicates the required panel cutout and is not the external product dimension of the switch.
A symbol rocker or actuator is not included and must be selected separately according to the desired function. Documented symbol rockers include, among others, 14.193.14, 14.193.44, and 14.193.74 for anchor windlasses, 14.193.04 and 14.193.34 for trim tabs, as well as 14.193.21, 14.193.51, 14.193.22, and 14.193.52 for gangways. Optional black and white panel frames and frame inserts are available in the 14.197.xx series.
