Replaceable Carling Contura II rocker switch actuator with illuminated function symbol for modular marine and control panels. The Type B actuator is available with a variety of function symbols for applications such as lights, pumps, navigation equipment, battery, trim, engine functions, and other electrical systems. A neutral version without a fixed symbol is also available, allowing the switch panel to be customized for the specific installation.
The rocker button is manufactured from hard-surfaced polycarbonate and features the convex Contura II shape with raised gripping knobs at the ends. This provides a clear finger grip and secure operation. The symbol area is translucent and can be backlit via the light source in the compatible switch base. A separate indicator field or indicator slot can simultaneously show when the connected function is activated.
The product is a passive, removable actuator and does not itself contain any electrical contact mechanism, terminals, documented LED, bulb, or other independent light source. Switch function, number of poles, voltage, load, terminal configuration, lamp type, and any IP rating are determined by the separately selected switch base. Switch bases are available with, among others, ON-OFF, ON-ON, ON-OFF-ON, and momentary spring-return functions, as well as 12V and 24V versions with white lamp or red LED.
The rocker is mounted via snap-on attachment to compatible Carling Contura, Contura II, and V-Series Contura switch bases, including the 14.192.xx series, and can be removed and replaced without necessarily replacing the entire switch. For panel construction, separate frame parts and potentially the Carling VRT removal tool are used. The panel cutout for compatible switch bases is 21.5 × 36.8 mm. Switch base, light source, mounting frame, and other accessories are not included.
