The product is a Carling Technologies Contura II illuminated rocker switch with a maintained ON-OFF-ON function, red LED illumination, and six terminals. The switch insert is designed for panel mounting in marine electrical installations and is supplied without a symbol rocker, which must be ordered separately.
The three maintained positions make the switch suitable for functions requiring a choice between two active states with a neutral center position. Documented applications include bilge pumps with a choice between automatic and manual operation, as well as control of navigation lights and masthead lights.
The switch features dual illumination. One light function illuminates the symbol on the separately mounted rocker and is permanently on, allowing the switch to be located in the dark. The other illuminates a field below the symbol as a status indicator when the connected load is activated.
The design has an IP56 protection rating and is installed using snap-in mounting in a rectangular panel cutout of 21.5 × 36.8 mm. The maximum rated current is 20 A at 12 V and 15 A at 24 V, while the red LED illumination is designed for 12 V.
The required symbol rocker is selected based on function, color, and finish. Relevant series include 14.193.xx in black or white finishes as well as 14.194.xx with a nickel-plated finish. Documented symbol rockers are available for, among others, bilge pumps, navigation lights, and anchor lights, as well as neutral rockers without symbols.
