A Carling Technologies Contura II water-resistant illuminated rocker switch with 24 V illumination and (ON)-OFF-(ON) switching function. The switch features three positions with a fixed OFF center position and spring return from both momentary ON positions. The double-pole configuration with eight terminals is suitable for operating trim tabs, hydraulic pumps, and anchor windlasses.
The switch is equipped with two white bulbs. One can illuminate the symbol on the separately ordered rocker, allowing the control to be located in the dark, while the other illuminates the indicator slot below the symbol when the connected function is activated. This variant includes a special note that the momentary ON function only has light on the load; the electrical connection must therefore be carried out according to the relevant wiring diagram.
The water-resistant design has an IP56 protection rating. The switch is intended for panel mounting and requires a rectangular panel cutout of 21.5 × 36.8 mm. The contact rating is max. 15 A at 24 V or 20 A at 12 V.
The family drawing shows a front contour of 25 × 49 mm and a depth of 39 mm in the assembled configuration with the rocker. Since the rocker or actuator itself must be ordered separately, these dimensions serve as a reference for the overall assembled contour and not as dimensions for the loose switch base alone.
For trim tabs, documented symbol rockers are available with part numbers 14.194.04, 14.193.64, 14.193.34, and 14.193.04. For anchor windlass operation, part numbers 14.194.14, 14.193.74, 14.193.44, and 14.193.14 are available. For installations with electric table legs, frame 14.197.63 or 14.197.03 as well as rocker 14.193.45 or 14.193.15 can be used. The choice of rocker and frame depends on the installation and the desired symbol and design.
