This Climma Compact direct expansion marine air conditioning system is variant B with a nominal cooling capacity of 12,000 Btu/h. The self-contained Compact 12 EH monoblock unit is designed for the air conditioning of a single cabin or adjacent cabins in marine installations. The system provides both cooling and thermostatically controlled electric heating with a stated heating capacity of 4,500 Btu/h.
The compressor, evaporator, and condenser are assembled in one pre-charged unit with R410A refrigerant. The condenser is seawater-cooled and constructed from marine-grade cupronickel, while the base and core components are manufactured in stainless steel. The monoblock design means that the refrigerant circuit does not need to be assembled during standard installation.
The system is specified as a 220 V variant, while the variant-specific unit marking is 230 V AC, single-phase, 50 Hz. The maximum physical size is 523 × 330 × 340 mm in the shown fan position. The fan can be rotated 90°, allowing the air outlet to be oriented horizontally or vertically. The nominal duct diameter is Ø125 mm, and an integrated air filter protects the air heat exchanger.
The seawater connection on the unit is Ø16 mm, and the condensate drain has a 1/2" BSP thread. The installation requires a seawater intake, strainer, pump, and outlet, as well as a condensate drain, return air, and insulated air ducts. Air ducts should be kept short and routed without sharp bends or unnecessary restrictions. The unit, control box, and seawater pump must be grounded.
The included control display supports temperature setting, manual fan regulation with eight steps, and automatic fan speed. Operating modes include automatic operation, cooling, electric heating, dehumidification, and fan-only operation. The display shows the temperature and compressor operating status and features automatic dimming via a light sensor.
For primary air distribution, accessory kit 50.241.40 can be used. It contains a 244 × 244 mm return air grille, 6 m of insulated Ø125 mm duct, a duct connection, a plenum, and a 302 × 100 mm supply air grille. An additional air outlet can be established with kit 50.241.45, which contains a 125 × 125 × 100 mm 3-way splitter, a closable Ø100 mm air outlet, and 6 m of Ø100 mm duct. Both kits are optional accessories.
The air filter must be positioned so that it is accessible for regular cleaning. The seawater strainer should be cleaned weekly, while the air filter and condensate drain should be cleaned monthly. When winterizing in frost-prone areas, water must be drained from the condenser, pump, strainer, and hoses.
