This Climma Compact self-contained marine air conditioning unit in variant C is a pre-charged, water-cooled monoblock for direct expansion. The model delivers 16,000 BTU/h in both cooling and reversible heating modes and is intended for climate control of a boat cabin or adjacent living spaces. The digital MK3 control panel is included.
During cooling operation, the unit absorbs heat and moisture from the cabin air, filters the air, and transfers the heat to the seawater. When heating, the cooling circuit is reversed so that heat is absorbed from the seawater and released into the cabin. This variant thus uses heat pump operation rather than electric resistance heating. The power consumption is 5.5 A for cooling and 6.6 A for heating, while the starting current is 34 A.
The unit is built on a stainless steel base and features stainless components as well as a high-efficiency copper-nickel condenser for the seawater circuit. The Climma Dry-Pan condensate tray is designed to counteract condensation issues, and the unit is supplied with an environmentally adapted refrigerant. The exact refrigerant type must be read from the unit's data plate.
The maximum airflow is 900 m³/h, and the nominal air duct diameter is 150 mm. The fan's air outlet can be rotated 90° and oriented horizontally or vertically, providing flexibility for duct connection. Air ducts must not have a smaller diameter than the duct spigot and must be installed without compression, which reduces the internal cross-section.
The main unit measures 605 × 368 × 352 mm. A product-specific dimensional drawing also shows an overall plan dimension of up to 640 mm, which should be taken into account where installation space is critical. The net weight is 40 kg. The unit can, for example, be placed under a bunk, bench, or sofa, but must not be installed in the engine room. The return air grille must have an unobstructed path to the air intake.
Installation requires a correctly dimensioned seawater circuit. The centrifugal pump must be mounted below the waterline, and the hose routing from the seacock via the filter to the pump must be short, rise continuously, and be executed with reinforced hose and double stainless steel hose clamps. Condensate is drained with a fall to the bilge or a sump with a float switch and pump. The two condensate outlets are intended for 5/8" internal diameter hose. The condensate drain must not be routed directly overboard, and the air filter must be inspected and cleaned regularly.
The optional seawater accessory kit with item no. 50.241.50 contains a 120 W seawater pump, 1/2" seawater intake, chrome-plated 1/2" thru-hull fitting for outlet, valve, and filter. The air distribution kit with item no. 50.241.55 contains a return air grille of 354 × 252 mm, 6 m Ø150 mm duct, a 150 × 125 × 125 mm 3-way distributor, 6 m Ø125 mm duct, two Ø125 mm connection spigots, two plenum boxes, and two supply grilles of 302 × 100 mm.
Electrical connection, safety earthing, troubleshooting, and repairs must be performed by qualified persons. Check the unit's data plate and installation manual before connection, as the product designation uses 220 V, while the corresponding European manufacturer variant is also designated 230 V, 1-phase, 50 Hz.
