Climma Compact self-contained marine air conditioning system variant A is a water-cooled, direct-expansion monoblock unit for cooling and heating on board. The Compact 9 Dry Pan MK3 model has a nominal cooling and heating capacity of 9,000 BTU/h and is intended for the climate control of a single cabin or adjacent cabins.
The unit is specified as a 220 V variant. The nominal electrical data for the Compact 9 platform is 230 V AC, 1-phase, and 50 Hz. The operating current is 3.4 A for cooling and 4 A for heating, while the starting current is 21.8 A. The reverse cycle principle allows the same refrigerant circuit to be used for both cooling and heating.
The compact construction features a stainless steel base and components, as well as a water-cooled condenser in marine-grade copper-nickel. The Climma Dry Pan system and condensate drain are designed to limit condensation problems. The condensate tray has two 19 mm hose connections, and the air filter at the heat exchanger can be removed for cleaning or replacement.
The rotatable fan delivers up to 230 m³/h and can be oriented for horizontal or vertical air discharge. In installations with limited height, the fan can be rotated 90°. The air duct connection is Ø 100 mm, and the main duct must not have a smaller diameter than the fan connection. The model-specific drawing dimensions are 520 mm base length, 300 mm base width, and 275 mm height; the maximum horizontal extent, including protruding components, is 338 mm.
The unit is installed in the room to be climate-controlled, where it draws return air directly from the room. The treated air is led through flexible, insulated ducts to one or more discharge grilles. The installation must provide access to the air filter, condensate drain, mounting points, seawater pipes, cables, and electrical box. The seawater pump must be installed horizontally with the outlet facing upwards and at least 50 cm below the waterline; the suction side should be under 1 m and executed without air pockets or inappropriate water traps.
The machine set is supplied with a digital MK3 control panel and connection cable. The refrigerant circuit is factory-filled, so installation does not require any intervention in the refrigerant circuit. Seawater installation and air distribution require separate installation parts. The first air outlet kit, item no. 50.241.20, contains a 244 × 244 mm return air grille, 6 m of Ø 100 mm ducting, a Ø 100 mm connection, a plenum, and a 202 × 100 mm discharge grille. An additional outlet can be established with item no. 50.241.25, which includes a 100 × 100 × 100 mm 3-way fitting and a closable Ø 100 mm air outlet.
