This Coastlight self-inflating life raft in a soft bag is designed for up to 6 people and recreational sailing within 12 nautical miles of the coast. The raft is an open life raft and is delivered packed in a soft valise with carrying handles.
The packed life raft measures approximately 66 × 26 × 28 cm and weighs 25 kg. The construction includes stabilizing water pockets and a boarding ladder, which help with stability in the water and access to the raft, respectively.
The equipment pack includes a sea anchor with line, a life buoy/ring with line, two floating paddles, a floating knife with a pocket, a bailer, two sponges, a whistle, a repair kit, and a hand pump. Also included are instructions for immediate action, 12 seasickness bags, as well as a waterproof light with battery and spare light.
The raft contains 0.250 liters of drinking water per person, amounting to a total of 1.5 liters for this 6-person variant. It is designed in accordance with the Italian regulatory framework D.M. 29/07/2008 and D.D. 02/03/2009. The type approval Coastal Light 6P, no. 146/2020, covers the 6-person model in, among other things, a soft valise and applies to Italian flag/regulatory compliance.
The first service must be performed 3 years after the date of initial packing. Thereafter, the raft must be serviced every 2 years. Always check the applicable requirements for life rafts for the vessel's flag state and planned sailing area.
