Cobra handheld marine VHF radio MR HH350 FLT EU is a floating, battery-powered VHF radio for maritime communication between vessels and between vessel and shore stations. The radio features selectable transmit power of 1 W, 3 W or 6 W and supports international, Canadian, and US marine channels as well as ATIS for European inland waterways.
The waterproof construction is rated JIS7/IPX7 and withstands immersion in water at a depth of 1 meter for up to 30 minutes. The radio floats when used with the included lithium-ion battery pack, and the orange internal core makes it easier to locate in the water. The BURP function helps expel water from the speaker grille after contact with water.
Tri-Watch monitors channel 16 and two programmable channels simultaneously. In addition, there is direct access to channel 16, scanning of all channels, Memory Scan, and an unlimited number of programmable memory channels. The backlit LCD display, illuminated function keys, signal strength meter, and key lock support safe and clear operation. A noise-canceling microphone reduces background noise, while squelch and key tones can be adjusted as needed.
The radio measures 121 × 67 × 53 mm without antenna and weighs 272 g including the lithium-ion battery. The rechargeable battery has a capacity of 1000 mAh and provides up to 8 hours of operation at 6 W or 16 hours at 1 W at a duty cycle of 5% transmission, 5% reception, and 90% standby. Charging is performed in the included drop-in charger via a 220/230 V AC mains adapter or 12 V DC adapter; the model does not support USB charging.
A jack for an external speaker/microphone allows the use of the Cobra CM 330-001 lapel speaker microphone. The radio can also be used with five AA alkaline batteries via the separate CM 110-024 battery tray, but buoyancy is only documented with the lithium-ion battery pack. The CM 110-027 can be used as a replacement battery. The model does not have built-in Bluetooth, GPS, DSC, or Rewind-Say-Again.
The delivery includes radio, 1000 mAh lithium-ion battery, removable antenna, drop-in charger, 220/230 V AC mains adapter, 12 V DC adapter for cigarette lighter/accessory socket, spring-loaded belt clip, wrist strap, and user manual. The charger can be mounted on a horizontal or vertical surface, and mounting hardware is included. The radio is covered by the Radio Equipment Directive 2014/53/EU (RED).
