This CRC Silicone Spray is a silicone-based lubricant and protective agent in a 250 ml aerosol can. The spray is intended for the maintenance of materials including plastic, rubber, and wood, and functions as an inert and stable lubricant.
The product is water-repellent and electrically insulating. It protects materials and rubber parts against water and moisture and can be used for items such as plastic gears, sliding mechanisms, precision instruments, and zippers. On rubber parts, the treatment helps prevent freezing, hardening, and sticking.
After application, a colorless, non-hardening film is formed, which penetrates the surface quickly. The film reduces squeaking, binding, and friction between moving surfaces without altering the surface color. The product is insoluble in water and suitable for most types of rubber, plastic, and coatings. Always test first on sensitive or stress-loaded materials.
The aerosol can features a 360° valve, allowing the spray to be applied even with the can held upside down. The product consists of a colorless liquid with CO₂ as a propellant and has a density of 0.72 g/cm³ at 20 °C. The physical-chemical values are stated for the product without propellant.
The spray is classified as an extremely flammable aerosol, category 1. The container is pressurized and may burst if heated. The product may cause skin irritation, drowsiness or dizziness, and is toxic to aquatic life with long-lasting effects. The transport classification is UN 1950, class 2.1.
