This CRC SP 350 long-term corrosion protection oil is supplied as a 250 ml aerosol spray for the protection of metal parts and assemblies during downtime, storage, and transport. It is suitable for ferrous and non-ferrous metals and alloys, including copper and brass.
The oil penetrates the surface, displaces moisture, and forms a thin, stable, and non-drying protective film. The film is designed to adhere to flat surfaces and sharp edges while protecting against moisture and corrosive vapors. When stored properly under cover, the treatment provides protection for up to 2 years indoors and up to 1 year outdoors.
The finished film has a proven thickness of 10-20 µm after 24 hours at 20 °C. The maximum expected coverage is 40 m²/l, and the solvent evaporates in approximately 2-4 hours at 20 °C when applying a thin film. The film withstands temperatures up to 100 °C and has withstood more than 300 hours of salt spray testing according to ASTM B117.
The aerosol features a 360° spray valve, allowing it to be used with the can held upside down. Shake the can thoroughly and apply a light, even layer to the surface to be protected. The film does not need to be removed before assembly or startup and contributes to the initial and basic lubrication of stored metal parts, gears, and shafts.
If the film needs to be removed, this can be done using CRC 6-66 or a suitable cleaner. CRC 6-66 is available, among others, as a 200 ml spray (item no. 65.283.10) and a 400 ml spray (item no. 65.283.13). The product must be used in a well-ventilated area and must not be applied to live or running electrical installations.
