Kill cord with safety key for outboard motors is an engine-specific safety lanyard for older OMC and Honda outboard motors. The safety key connects to the engine's emergency stop switch, while the cord is attached to the operator.
If the operator moves away from the helm, the safety key is pulled out of the stop switch. The product is intended for the engine's safety cutoff switch and must be matched with the design of the switch and the existing key.
The design consists of a safety key with a retractable cord and carabiner. The black key has a flat, rectangular shape with a mounting hole, central engagement, and an open slot towards the bottom edge.
This variant is specifically intended for the older OMC/Honda system. It is not documented for newer Honda versions, which use a different variant. Therefore, please check the physical design of the key and the engine's stop switch before purchasing.
