This Dometic CoolMatic CD compressor cooling drawer, model 30S, is a compact, compressor-driven drawer refrigerator with a 30 l capacity for 12/24 V DC. Its slim design is developed for permanent installation where space is limited, such as in boats, motorhomes, recreational vehicles, and trucks.
The cooling drawer features a stainless steel front and pulls out easily on roller bearing slides. The drawer can be opened and unlocked in a single motion, while a secure locking mechanism keeps it closed during sailing or driving. The temperature is regulated by a manual, infinitely adjustable thermostat within approximately −2 °C to +12 °C, depending on ambient temperature and settings. The model does not have internal lighting.
The product measures 440 mm in width, 250 mm in height, and 730 mm in depth with the cooling unit in the standard position. Without the unit behind the drawer itself, the depth is 560 mm. The cooling unit can be placed on the left or right side or mounted separately up to 1.5 m from the drawer, providing greater flexibility for installation in tight spaces.
The rated power is 36 W, and power consumption is 3.0 A at 12 V or 1.5 A at 24 V. The integrated battery protection switches off the compressor at 10.4 V on a 12 V system or 22.8 V on a 24 V system. Reconnection occurs at 11.7 V and 24.2 V, respectively. The power supply should be fused with at least 15 A at 12 V or 7.5 A at 24 V.
The mounting location must be ventilated so that heat from the condenser can be dissipated. There must be at least 50 mm of ventilation on all four sides, and installation in a closed compartment without air circulation should be avoided. The cooling drawer can be used at a permanent inclination of up to 30°. Optimal cooling performance is achieved at an ambient temperature of +16 °C to +32 °C and a maximum of 90% relative humidity.
The hermetically sealed cooling circuit contains 42 g of R134a refrigerant. The cooling drawer has climate class N according to EN 62552, and the 30 l capacity is measured according to IEC 62552-3. The product is CE-marked and ECE R10-approved. The scope of delivery includes the drawer cooling unit, four mounting brackets, and operating and installation instructions. A compatible stainless steel mounting frame is available separately under item no. 50.913.40.
For maintenance, the condenser should be regularly cleaned of dust and dirt. The cooling drawer must be defrosted when a layer of ice forms, and during long periods of inactivity, it should be cleaned and left slightly ajar to prevent odors.
