This Dometic Oceanair Skyscreen Pleated blackout blind with flyscreen for deck hatches is designed for the Lewmar 44. The blind and insect screen are combined in a single slimline cassette, allowing light control and ventilation to be managed from the same unit.
The pleated blind section provides 100% blackout, while the separate pleated flyscreen allows for natural ventilation and helps restrict insect access. Brush seals contribute to insect protection. When the blind and screen are stowed, the hatch opening remains clear, ensuring an unobstructed view.
Operation is manual and performed using integrated magnetic handles. The blind and screen sections can be magnetically coupled, allowing the opening to be adjusted as required. The construction is assembled in an ultra-slim, powder-coated aluminium cassette with a verified profile depth of 25.2 mm.
This variant features a white textured finish in RAL 9016 and is intended for an internal compatibility and mounting dimension of 442 × 442 mm. This measurement refers to the internal dimension of the Lewmar 44 hatch and is not the external dimension of the cassette. The product is documented as compatible with hatch item numbers 19.410.44, 19.420.44, and 19.440.44.
The cassette can be surface-mounted or recessed into the cabin headlining. The fixing points are accessed by removing the corner covers, which are re-attached after installation. Mounting is performed using No. 6 countersunk screws, and the maximum documented mounting angle is less than 30° from vertical. A separate recess frame consisting of four moulded profile pieces is available as an optional accessory.
The frame and fabric should be cleaned with a clean, damp cloth. If the blind is not to be used for an extended period, it should be left in a retracted and stowed position.
