Dometic Oceanair SkyScreen Roller Recessed blackout blind with insect screen is a combined solution for Lewmar 44 boat hatches. This variant fits hatches with item nos. 19.410.44, 19.420.44 and 19.440.44 and has internal cutout dimensions of 442 × 442 mm.
The blackout blind and insect screen are integrated into a single cassette, allowing the hatch to be shielded from both daylight and insects. The blind provides 100% blackout, while the manual pull-to-shut operation and magnetic catch allow the screen to be positioned as needed. When the blind and screen are retracted, the hatch opening remains clear.
The cassette is manufactured from pre-treated aluminium with a polyester powder coating. The white RAL 9016 finish is designed for discreet integration into the cabin ceiling or lining. The unit is flush-mounted directly under the hatch and sits level with the surrounding lining.
During installation, the unit must be positioned and aligned directly under the hatch. The flexible white PVC finish liner, item no. 19.809.05 or 19.809.20, can be ordered separately. When using the liner, approximately 2 mm of clearance must be left around the hatch and at least 6 mm of overlap behind the hatch downstand flange. The liner can be trimmed to height and pressed into the groove along the inner edge of the unit.
The spring tension of the roller mechanism is factory-set. If the tension needs to be adjusted later, the unit must be removed and placed on a flat surface in the same orientation as the final installation. Spare handles for models manufactured after 2012 are available as a pair under item no. 19.899.01.
