This Dometic Oceanair SkyScreen Roller Surface 2 blackout roller blind with flyscreen is a manual combination system for the Bomar 1039 boat hatch. The blind and flyscreen are housed in a white, surface-mounted, low-profile unit that is fitted to the cabin's interior lining around the hatch.
The 100% blackout Solar Shield White blind can shut out daylight, while the separate Skyscreen flyscreen allows for ventilation through the open hatch while keeping insects out. The blind and screen are connected via a user-friendly magnetic closure. The Full Travel function allows either the blind or the screen to be drawn across the entire opening or to meet at any desired position.
The system is tailored for the Bomar 1039 with an interior opening of 514 × 514 mm. These are mounting and compatibility dimensions, not the overall external dimensions of the unit. The product depth is 28.5 mm, the cassette profiles at the roller mechanisms are approximately 60 mm wide, and the side rails are approximately 40 mm wide. The housing, blind fabric, and flyscreen are white, and the unit housing is made of PVC.
The unit is assembled from two blind/screen cassettes and two side rails that click together at the corners. Self-adhesive pads at the corners can be used for temporary positioning, after which the system is secured with four corner screws. No. 6 × 16 mm pan head screws are recommended but are not included. Shorter screws should be selected if the depth of the construction requires it.
The mounting surface must be flat, clean, dust-free, and free of grease so that the frame is not twisted or strained out of shape. The screws should be tightened with a manual screwdriver. When mounting on soft headlining, M4 plastic washers can be used as spacers; these are not included. The spring tension is pre-set before delivery and can, if necessary, be adjusted via the tensioner under the top right screw cover by a maximum of approximately eight full turns.
A flexible white PVC finishing trim can be ordered separately as item no. 19.809.05 in a 2.5 m length or 19.809.20 in a 20 m length. Spare handles for models after 2012 are available as item no. 19.899.01. The verified compatible Bomar 1039 hatch has item no. 19.720.05.
