Dometic Oceanair SkyScreen Roller Surface 2 blackout blind with flyscreen is a manually operated combination unit for interior shading of a Lewmar 40 deck hatch. The unit is designed for a hatch opening of 421 × 421 mm and combines a 100% blackout blind with a separate flyscreen.
The blind and the flyscreen can each be pulled across the entire opening. They can also be magnetically connected and positioned together in the middle of the opening, allowing part of the hatch to be darkened while the remaining part is covered by the flyscreen. The manual roller mechanism requires no electrical connection.
The low-profile white frame is made of PVC and has a product depth of 28.5 mm. The frame color is white RAL 9016, and both the blackout blind and the flyscreen are white. The three-layer blackout fabric is UV-resistant and water-repellent, reflects 80% of heat, and requires minimal maintenance.
The unit is surface-mounted on a flat part of the cabin headlining and is suitable for retrofitting as well as thin deck and ceiling structures. Installation is performed using four corner fixings. No. 6 × 16 mm pan-head screws are recommended, which are not included, and the screws should be tightened with a manual screwdriver to avoid deformation. For soft headlining, M4 plastic washers can be used as spacers; these are not included.
The variant fits the Lewmar 40 and is documented for hatches with part numbers 19.410.40, 19.420.40, and 19.440.40. Check the opening, the flatness of the mounting surface, and the orientation of the unit before fastening.
As separate accessories, a flexible white PVC finishing trim can be used: part no. 19.809.05 with a length of 2.5 m or part no. 19.809.20 with a length of 20 m. Replacement handles for the SkyScreen made after 2012 are available as a pair under part no. 19.899.01.
