This Dometic Oceanair SkyScreen Roller Surface 2 blackout blind and flyscreen for deck hatches is a manual combination system made for Bomar 1080. The unit is mounted on the interior surface of the cabin lining around the hatch opening and is suitable for retrofitting.
The 100% blackout blind and the flyscreen are integrated into one compact low-profile unit. The blind reduces light intake, while the flyscreen allows for ventilation with protection against insects. Both materials can be extended across the entire opening or meet in the middle, allowing the opening to be partially covered by the blind and partially by the flyscreen.
The magnetic connection between the blackout blind and the flyscreen allows for simple manual operation without the need for electrical installation. The three-layer blackout fabric provides 100% blackout and 80% heat reflection, and is water-repellent and UV-resistant.
The housing and frame are made of PVC, and the structure, blind, and flyscreen are white. The system has a depth of 28.5 mm. The documented opening dimensions are 470 × 470 mm and describe the hatch opening for the Bomar 1080, not the unit's overall external dimensions.
The unit consists of two cassettes, two side rails, and corner elements. It must be mounted on a flat surface and secured at the four corners to avoid twisting. No. 6 × 16 mm pan-head screws are recommended, but not included. The screws should be tightened with a manual screwdriver, and after installation, the movement of both the blind and the flyscreen should be checked.
A flexible finishing frame can be ordered separately as item no. 19.809.05 in a 2.5 m roll or 19.809.20 in a 20 m roll. A pair of spare handles for versions after 2012 is available as item no. 19.899.01.
