This Dometic Oceanair SkyScreen Roller Surface 2 blackout blind with flyscreen is a manual combination unit for surface mounting around a Lewmar 60 deck hatch. This variant has an internal aperture of 507 × 507 mm and combines a 100% blackout blind and a white flyscreen in one low-profile frame.
The blind and flyscreen move in opposite directions and are connected by a user-friendly magnetic closure. Both parts can be pulled across the entire opening, or they can meet in an optional position so that the opening is, for example, partially darkened and partially covered by the flyscreen. The manual, spring-loaded roller mechanism is assembled and tension-tested before delivery.
The unit features a white PVC/plastic profile, white blackout fabric, and a white flyscreen. The plastic profile is UV-resistant and easy to clean. The profile depth from the mounting surface is 28.4 mm, the cassette profile is 60.1 mm high, and the side rails are 40 mm wide. The standard corners have a radius of 42.
The system is mounted directly onto a flat interior ceiling or lining surface around the deck hatch and is suitable for retrofitting. The frame must not be twisted during installation, as deformation can affect the roller mechanism. The construction consists of two cassette units and two side rails, which click together at the moulded corners.
For fastening, four No. 6 × 16 mm pan-head screws are recommended, which are not included. Shorter screws must be used if the structure does not have sufficient thickness. The screws should be tightened with a standard manual screwdriver. For soft headlining, M4 plastic washers can be used as spacers; these are not included. Check the function after assembly and after the final installation.
A flexible white finishing trim can be ordered separately as part no. 19.809.05 in 2.5 m length or 19.809.20 in 20 m length. Both have a maximum standard height of 62 mm. Spare handles for Surface and Recessed systems after 2012 are available as part no. 19.899.01.
