This Dometic Oceanair Skyshade Cabinshade blackout roller blind is a spring-loaded cassette roller blind for internal shading of boat hatches, portholes, and cabin windows. The CSH-2 variant has a white cassette and white blackout fabric with a fabric width of 470 mm and a fabric drop of 510 mm.
The blackout fabric has 0% light transmission and helps darken the cabin. The fabric is UV-resistant, sun- and heat-reflecting, moisture-resistant, and water-repellent. The surface can be wiped clean, making the blind suitable for maritime interiors.
The blind rolls completely into the cassette when not in use. Anti-rattle end caps reduce rattling during sailing, while Mini Grip hold-down brackets can secure the blind in the extended position. Stopper pins also make it possible to hold the blind partially down. The spring return function can be adjusted via the spring tension.
The cassette roller blind can be top-mounted or face-mounted with two screws through the cassette's end brackets. It can be used on vertical and horizontal surfaces as well as on slightly curved ceiling and mounting surfaces. The recommended drill diameter is 2 mm, and the material thickness at the mounting location must be checked so that the screws do not break through the structure.
The fabric dimensions are 470 × 510 mm and should not be confused with the outer dimensions of the cassette. The indicative total space requirement is 532 mm in width and 583 mm in height. The cassette is 50 mm high and 28 mm deep, while the bottom rail is 13 mm high. Ensure sufficient overlap around the opening and clearance around the cassette, brackets, and trim.
If the fabric becomes wet, the blind should be rolled out and allowed to dry naturally. The spring system does not normally require ongoing maintenance, and several of the construction's components can be replaced if necessary. The product's manufacturer number is CSH-2-W-RP.
