This Dometic Oceanair Skyshade Portshade blackout roller blind is an ultra-compact, manual cassette roller blind for portholes, portlights, small windows, and smaller hatches. The PSH-1 variant has a fabric size of 340 × 280 mm and a white cassette in RAL 9016.
The 100% blackout Solar White fabric rolls completely into the slim cassette when the blind is not in use. The fabric features a water-repellent coating, while the spring-loaded return mechanism ensures manual retraction. The spring tension and retraction speed can be adjusted at the left end bracket.
With a fabric size of 340 × 280 mm, the total mounting width is 383 mm and the total mounting height is 340 mm. The cassette profile is approximately 24 mm deep and 20 mm high. The fabric dimensions describe the blind fabric itself and must therefore not be confused with the required total mounting space.
The cassette roller blind can be mounted on vertical, horizontal, and curved surfaces. It supports both face mounting and top mounting and is secured through the two end brackets of the cassette. The Mini Grip latch holds the blind in the extended position, and anti-rattle end caps reduce movement and noise.
In principle, there must be 15 mm of clearance above the existing window or porthole frame. For face mounting, pre-drill the main mount with a Ø2 mm drill bit. For top mounting, the end brackets can be rotated to the required angle, after which the aluminum profile is pre-drilled with a Ø1.6 mm drill bit. The mounting area must be free of obstructions and located away from heat sources.
The spring return system requires no periodic service. If the fabric becomes wet, the blind must be fully extended and air-dried naturally. The spring must not be overtightened, as this may damage the mechanism.
