This Dometic Oceanair Skysol Pleatedshade in model PLS-1 is a manual, light-filtering blind for portholes and small windows in boat interiors. This version features cream-colored Harmony fabric with a documented fabric dimension of 381 × 305 mm.
The durable polyester fabric filters and diffuses daylight, softening the light in the cabin or saloon while also limiting views from the outside. The fabric features a single 25 mm pleat. This variant is not rated as a blackout blind and is supplied without a flyscreen. The fabric is neither water-repellent nor heat-reflective.
The blind is intended for wall or face mounting around the window. It gathers at the top and is secured at the bottom with stainless steel press studs. Mounting hardware and screws are included, and the standard configuration can be installed on surfaces with an incline of up to 20° from vertical.
When selecting a size, the stated 381 × 305 mm must be treated as the fabric dimensions and not the total outer dimensions of the blind. The measurement guide specifies a fabric width equal to the width of the opening plus 20 mm, and a fabric height equal to the height of the opening including any trim plus 80 mm. For this variant, this computationally corresponds to an opening of approximately 361 mm in width and approximately 225 mm in total height including trim.
A clearance of 50 mm must be allowed so that the folded blind clears the window and trim, as well as 15 mm of clearance above the trim. Spacers can be used if greater clearance is required. The blind should be mounted relatively tautly to avoid sagging, especially on an inclined surface, and the integrated retention straps hold it in the upper position.
Installation requires tools including a 2 mm drill bit and a Phillips screwdriver. On thin bulkheads or panels, the screw length must be checked so that the surface is not pierced. The fabric can be cleaned gently with water and a sponge or upholstery foam cleaner; clean parallel to the pleats. If the blind gets wet, it must be fully extended and allowed to air dry naturally.
