Dometic Oceanair SkySol PleatedShade in size PLS-2 is a manually operated fabric shade for portholes, portlights, and small windows. This cream-colored version has a fabric dimension of 508 × 305 mm and provides light diffusion as well as the ability to regulate interior ambient light.
The shade is made of a single layer of cream-colored Harmony pleated polyester fabric. The pleats gather at the top when the shade is opened, clearing the window opening. The product is not water-resistant or heat-reflective and is supplied without an insect screen.
The specified 508 × 305 mm is the fabric's width and height, not the complete external dimensions of the shade. When selecting, the fabric width is calculated as the width of the opening plus 20 mm. The fabric height is calculated as the height of the opening including any frame or trim plus 80 mm, of which approximately 50 mm allows for the folded shade.
The SkySol PleatedShade is mounted on a bulkhead or wall and held in place with press studs. The mounting is designed for a maximum inclination of 20° from the vertical. The trim clearance is 15 mm and can be increased with spacer blocks if mounting conditions require it.
Installation is carried out with 2 mm pre-drilling. Before mounting, check that the area around the opening is free of obstructions and located away from heat sources. The thickness of the bulkhead or wall must be sufficient so that the mounting screws do not break through.
