Dometic Skyscreen Recessed integrated blackout blind and flyscreen is a manually operated solution for Lewmar 60 deck hatches. The blackout blind and flyscreen are combined into a single unit, which is mounted on the cabin side under the hatch and recessed flush with the headlining.
The 100% blackout Solar Shield White Blackout blind blocks out light, while the integrated Skyscreen Flyscreen allows natural ventilation and keeps insects out. When both roller elements are retracted, the hatch opening is clear, so the normal function of the deck hatch is not blocked. The operation is mechanical and requires no electrical connection.
The unit features a low-profile cassette made of pre-treated aluminum with a polyester powder coating. The standard color is white RAL 9016. A magnetic closure holds the extended screen in place, and the series' return dampening system provides a controlled roll-back.
The variant has an internal cutout dimension of 507 × 507 mm. This dimension is a mounting measurement and not an indication of the unit's total external dimensions. For the Skyscreen Recessed series, the required recess depth is 23.5 mm, the product depth is 30.4 mm, and the depth including the handle is 39 mm.
The unit is secured through hidden screw holes in the corners and must be mounted on a flat, even surface with a right-angled opening. Screws larger than No. 6 must not be used. The frame must not be tightened so hard or recessed so far that the cassette deforms, and it must not be used as a structural support for the headlining. Installation in areas with high humidity or direct exposure to water and showers should be avoided.
The blind is manufactured for Lewmar 60 deck hatches with part numbers 19.410.60, 19.420.60, and 19.440.60. It is also documented as suitable for Bomar 1039 with part no. 19.720.05.
A flexible white PVC liner can be ordered separately as part no. 19.809.05 in 2.5 m or 19.809.20 in 20 m. The liner forms a finished transition between the deck hatch and the screen. Spare handles are supplied in pairs as part no. 19.899.01.
The guide rails can be lightly lubricated with silicone spray as needed; grease and oil must not be used. The fabric is water-repellent and can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. If the blind gets wet, it must be pulled out and allowed to dry naturally.
