Dometic SkyScreen Roller Surface 2 blackout blind and flyscreen is a surface-mounted combination unit for Lewmar 20 hatches with an internal opening size of 347 × 202 mm. The unit is mounted on the interior cabin lining and combines a 100% blackout blind and a separate flyscreen in a white, low-profile frame.
The blackout blind and flyscreen can each be pulled across the entire opening, or they can meet in the middle. The magnetic closure connects the handles, making manual operation simple. The blind shuts out the light, while the flyscreen allows ventilation through an open hatch while keeping insects out.
The frame is made of PVC and has a product depth of 28.5 mm. The side profiles are 40 mm wide, while the top and bottom cassette profiles are 60 mm each. The standard corners have a radius of R42. The structure, blackout blind, and flyscreen are white, and the frame color is RAL 9016.
The Surface version is suitable for retrofitting and is fastened through the four corners onto a flat and sufficiently stable mounting surface. Do not overtighten the mounting screws, as deformation of the frame can affect the movement of the blind or screen. After mounting, both parts should be checked for free and smooth travel.
A flexible white PVC finishing trim can be ordered separately. Item no. 19.809.05 is supplied in a 2.5 m length with one joining clip, while item no. 19.809.20 is supplied in a 20 m length with ten joining clips. Both have a height of 62 mm and are white, RAL 9016. A pair of spare handles for versions after 2012 is available separately as item no. 19.899.01.
For maintenance, the side profiles can be lightly lubricated with silicone spray; grease and oil should not be used. The blind fabric can be wiped clean, and a wet blind should be pulled out and left to air dry. Acetone and similar solvents must not be used on the plastic profiles.
