This electrically remote-controlled battery switch is a motorized ON/OFF switch for 12 V and 24 V DC battery systems. It is rated for 275 A continuous current, 455 A intermittent current, and a cranking current of up to 1,250 A.
The electrical operation allows the battery switch to be mounted close to the battery and controlled from a separate ON/OFF switch. Positioning it close to the battery can reduce the length and required cross-section of the heavy copper cables between the battery and the switch. An integrated LED provides status indication during operation.
The switch can be operated both electrically and manually. The manual emergency override allows the main circuit to be connected or disconnected directly on the unit if the remote control cannot be used. The verified operating range is 9.5–32 V DC, while the nominal system voltages are 12/24 V DC.
The unit has separate power terminals marked INPUT and OUTPUT. INPUT is connected to the battery side, while OUTPUT is routed to the positive side of the electrical load. The control cable has three wires: black for ground/negative, red for the LED status indicator, and green for the ON/OFF switch. The negative control wire must be supplied from the same battery that the switch isolates, and only one negative supply may be routed to the unit.
The battery switch measures 67 × 67 × 95 mm and has a mounting hole spacing of 54 × 54 mm measured center to center. It is ignition protected. The optional ON/OFF key switch with LED, item no. 14.386.09, can be used as a remote control.
