FIAMM electromagnetic flush-mount horn is an electric signal horn for recessed mounting in boats with a 12 V DC electrical system. The visible front measures a nominal 140 × 80 mm and is finished in polished stainless steel, while the horn mechanism is hidden behind the front.
The electromagnetic design functions without a compressor and delivers a sound level of 112 dB(A) at 1 meter with a frequency of 405 Hz. The horn has a power consumption of 4.5 A and is designed for a nominal voltage of 12 V DC with an allowable voltage range of 11.5–13.8 V DC. The electrical connection is made via two 6.3 × 0.8 mm flat plug terminals.
The installation dimensions are 90 × 60 × 95 mm. The horn must be mounted on a flat and rigid surface and positioned protected from direct water and mud splashes. The pre-assembled gasket and the included fastening material support a simple and quick installation.
The construction consists of steel and ABS with a polished stainless steel front. The plastic parts are covered by a five-year warranty against yellowing due to UV radiation. The net weight is 210 g.
The horn is designed for operation from −30 °C to +80 °C and has been tested for more than 480 hours of salt spray, vibration at 1 g in three axes, and over 50,000 activation cycles. It can be activated continuously for more than three minutes and complies with ECE Regulation 10.
