This stainless steel filter basket is a replacement filter element for the water filters with item no. 17.641.00 and 17.641.01. It is used in the filter housing of the engine's cooling water intake.
The filter basket's mesh construction retains impurities in the intake water before the water is passed on through the engine's cooling system. The basket can be replaced separately when the existing filter element is worn or damaged.
The filter element is made of stainless steel and is inserted into the existing filter housing. The item is the filter basket itself; the filter housing, lid, gasket, and opening key are not included in the scope of delivery.
The filter basket is specifically designed for the water filters 17.641.00 with G 3/4" connections and 17.641.01 with G 1" connections. For the same filter housings, a spare cover with gasket is available under item no. 17.641.06.
