Stainless steel filter basket for water filter 17.649.xx is a replaceable filter insert for engine cooling water filters 17.649.02 and 17.649.03. The basket acts as the filter's internal element and retains impurities in the cooling water.
The filter element is manufactured as a stainless steel mesh. This design allows for the filter basket itself to be replaced without needing to change the complete filter housing when the existing basket is damaged or worn.
The spare basket is suitable for water filter 17.649.02 with 1/2" connection and water filter 17.649.03 with 3/4" connection. The connection sizes describe the compatible complete filters and are not dimensions of the filter basket itself.
Delivery includes one filter basket. Filter housing, lid, gasket, support bracket, and opening key are not included. A spare lid with gasket is available separately as item no. 17.649.08.
