This stainless steel mesh filter basket is a replaceable filter insert for water filters 17.641.02 and 17.641.03 in the engine's cooling water system.
The filter basket is installed as the internal filtration element in the compatible filter housing on the engine's water intake. The mesh design filters the water before it is passed through the engine cooling system.
The insert is made of stainless steel mesh. It is supplied as a separate spare part without a filter housing, polycarbonate lid, gasket, or opening key.
The filter basket fits water filter 17.641.02 with G 1 1/4" connection and water filter 17.641.03 with G 1 1/2" connection. The connection dimensions apply to the complete filter housings and are not measurements of the filter basket itself. It does not fit filters 17.641.00 and 17.641.01, which use filter basket 17.641.08. A spare lid with gasket for the compatible filter housings is available as item no. 17.641.07.
