This remotely operated bistable battery switch with mechanical latching is designed to disconnect the positive main connection in a 12 V battery system. It is operated via a separate ON/OFF switch and can be used where the battery connection needs to be connected or disconnected from another location.
The mechanically bistable function holds the switch in the open or closed position without continuous power consumption. Power is only required during the switching operation itself. Multiple units can be controlled simultaneously, allowing several battery groups to be connected or disconnected at the same time.
The switch is rated for 250 A continuous current and up to 2500 A for 5 seconds. The power terminals are M12, and the power contacts are made of silver-plated copper. The housing has IP56 protection, and the total dimensions of the product are 164 × 95 × 98 mm.
The unit features a connection point for an LED status indicator, which can show the ON/OFF status. The LED indicator and the separate ON/OFF control are not documented as included. Manual emergency operation is provided and allows for local control if the electrical remote control cannot be used.
An optional output connector with item no. 14.383.50 can be used as an accessory. The product complies with Directive 72/245/EEC, as last amended by Directive 2009/19/EC, and has EC type-approval number e24*72/245*2006/28*1619*01.
